Des Moines Winterset Memorials is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, and dependable full-time Monument Installer to perform the preparation and installation of granite memorial monuments in cemeteries. This position is based out of our Winterset location, from our brand new facility!
As a Monument Installer, your role will include digging foundations, placing finished monuments, and ensuring each installation meets high-quality standards. This is a hands-on, physical position that involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires a strong commitment to completing tasks with precision and care.
What You’ll Do (Including but not limited to):
- Drive to cemetery gravesites to install monuments, follow maps, diagrams, and written specifications
- Dig trenches for foundations using mini-excavator and/or hand tools
- Mix and pour concrete/mortar
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface
- Set monuments in place, according to layout or pattern
- Hand polish and/or machine polish memorials
- Clean and repair memorials as required
- Other duties as needed or required
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diplomoa or equivalent (GED) and minimum of one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to operate work-related machinery including excavator, truck-mounted crane, and hand tools
- Able to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to life up to 70 lbs
- Be insurable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must possess current CDL Class A or be motivated to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
